The artist has handed over the complete sum of his twenty-five thousand pound honor prize money to the Music Venues Trust, which functions to preserve the UK's independent music venues.
The star was given the cheque on 16 October as his third album his work was chosen as the best record of the past year.
The musician has opted to donate the funds to the trust, in recognition of the essential function grassroots venues fulfilled in his initial steps.
"As an artist would not have achieved my current career if it weren't for all the performances I did around the North East, and elsewhere, when I was starting out," said Fender. "These spaces are iconic, but they are facing challenges."
Beginning in 2023, at least 150 of these locations have ceased operations – approximately 16% of the whole industry in the UK.
Over the past year, major artists including the band Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Sheeran have all aided the MVT in its attempts to keep the scene afloat, by adding a small levy to their ticket costs, which benefits local stages.
Fender also took part, collecting in excess of £100,000 on his live tour to assist thirty-eight small stages across Britain.
The money supported venues that were facing possible closure due to difficulties caused by flooding, fires and bereavements, as well as licensing issues, legal disputes and neighbor objections.
Additional spaces were granted funding support in modernizing infrastructure and technical equipment that directly benefitted musicians and audiences.
"The concept that funds from concerts in large arenas supports the independent spots, where it begins for musicians like me, is just common sense," Fender has said.
Fender is among several artists to give his Mercury Prize funds to charitable organizations.
In they received the award in the mid-90s for their record their work, lead singer the singer announced that the act would give their winnings to the non-profit the charity.

Additionally the 1994 recipients M People donated their award to a MS organization after a close contact was diagnosed the condition.
"Winning was ample," said vocalist the singer. "The cash was the cherry on top but we didn't need the extra, because we had the honor. So our winning impacted the lives of others."
In the past week, the MVT shared it had protected two small stages in south-east England, by transferring them to local control.
The first in Southampton and the other in that location were acquired under the public acquisition program, which is funded by a national body and music fans who purchase "shares" in the properties.
